The AGU 2025 General Assembly took place in New Orleans, with numerous scientists from all over the world participating.
Prof. Amore has presented a contribution titled "Sustainable utilisation and fostering the territorial redevelopment of two pilot paleontological sites in southern Italy: Pietraroja and Ciampate del diavolo," illustrating the results of the INSITE project. Among the presented materials were the outcomes of surveys regarding awareness of the importance of the two paleontological sites, the bibliographic database, and the database of paleontological findings, the paleocycling route, and digital models of Pietraroja and Ciampate del Diavolo. Participants had the opportunity to see, with the help of VR headsets, the virtual reconstruction of the Pietraroja landscape during the Cretaceous and could take a photo with the Homo heidelbergensis from the Ciampate del diavolo site.
