Professor Romano Fistola, from the research unit of the University of Naples Federico II, presented a paper entitled “Cultural Heritage and Territorial Development: The ‘Paleocycling Route’ in Campania” at the XXVII International Conference Living and Walking in Cities (LWC 2025), held in Brescia on September 11 and 12, 2025.
The annual LWC Conferences represent an important international forum for discussion on issues related to mobility and quality of life in urban areas. The 2025 edition offered the opportunity to present the PaleoCycling Route (PCR) project, one of the core actions of the INSITE Project: a cycling route of approximately 80 km, divided into 15 stages, crossing the Matese Regional Park and connecting the municipalities of Tora e Piccilli and Pietraroja. The initiative promotes forms of responsible and alternative tourism, offering an authentic experience distinct from mass tourism flows.
